Thank you to everyone who returned their completed reading questionnaires before half term. Below is a copy of the letter being sent home with your child tonight explaining how we have used the information to further improve our reading provision in school:
Following on from the success of last years event, the whole school once again took part in "Sign to Sing". The event took place at 2:45pm this afternoon. Along with hundreds of other schools in the UK, the aim was to break the World Record again this year for the most people signing and singing at the same time. The children and staff have been working incredibly hard for the last few weeks to learn the official "Sign to Sing" song. Donations are still coming in, however, to date we have raised £142.45. This money will go to the Deaf Awareness Charity. Thank you to everyone for their support.
Attached is a letter regarding reading together with a questionnaire which has been sent home with children tonight. We would be grateful if completed questionnaires are returned by Thursday 9th February 2012. Thank you.
Our children have recently been learning to sign this years "sign to sing" world record breaking attempt song, which is called "Sign 2 Sing."
Last year the children learnt how to sign the song "I'd like to teach the world to sing." With the help of many other schools we broke the world record for the most people singing and signing at the same time.
This year we are trying to break our own world record on Wednesday 8th February, when the children will perform" Sign to Sing."
During the event we will be raising money for Deaf Awareness.
