It is equally important that children should not be at school if they are unwell. Attendance is crucial to effective learning and the continuity of learning experiences, therefore, school places great emphasis on this in its communication with parents. If your child is going to be absent please phone the school on the first morning or send a message. After our 1960s lessons we created posters and banners as hippies and had a hippie peace march around the school, highlighting the hippie key beliefs. Finally, we ended the day by re-creating a typical 1960 concert and sang along with some of the classic hits from that time. It was an amazing day, where we really thought about what life was like back in the 1960 and how different some things were...especially school!
