Attendance - Absence Figures

School Attendance

Children can only learn effectively if they attend school regularly. It is important too, that children arrive and leave school on time. It is equally important that children should not be at school if they are unwell. Attendance is crucial to effective learning and the continuity of learning experiences, therefore, school places great emphasis on this in its communication with parents.

If your child is going to be absent please phone the school on the first morning or send a message. If a call is not made, school will phone the first named contact to ensure the child is safe at home. We depend on parental support to ensure that your child attends school regularly and punctually.

Our absence figures for the period from 3rd September, 2008 to 17th July, 2009 were as follows

Attendance 94.0 %

Authorised Absence 5.4 %

Unauthorised Absence 0.6 %
