Top Tips for Maths

We realise that some of the methods that our children use may be different from those that you are familiar with so we thought a few handy hints for helping with homework might come in useful.

1.) Times Tables: There is no easy way to learn these its just practise, practise and more practise. Your children will know which are their target tables.

2.) Time: Get your children using timetables, TV mags, bus schedules etc to practise time.

3.) Money: Involve your children in shopping to practise their mental maths and become accustomed to real life money problems.

4.) Shapes: Shapes are all around us. Get your children to look at the world around them and describe facts about the shapes that they can see.

5.) Measuring: Get your childrn involved in cooking, decorating etc where they can use measuring equipment in real life situations.

Other methods your children should be able to explain to you but if you do have any problems feel free to contact us at any time.
